Individual Therapy

There is suffering in life. Yet, within each of us exists the possibility of living in ways that feel less anguished, more fulfilled, and more deeply connected to ourselves and others.

Psychotherapy can be a meaningful method that moves us towards tapping into these unrealized possibilities.

The boundaries of a professional therapeutic relationship creates a kind of space like no other, one that allows for the development of psychological growth and healing while also offering a path to reduce symptoms and enrich everyday life. 

 

My work is compassion-based and non-pathologizing and grounded in psychoanalytic thought. I also integrate attachment theory, mindfulness and meditation, as well as contemporary trauma models.

 

This means that in therapy we may explore how past dynamics affect current ways of relating to one’s self and others, address current patterns of unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, foster an air of self-compassion and acceptance, utilize an understanding of modern neuroscience to promote resilience and well-being.

Sessions are generally once or twice a week.

 I specialize in working with:

 

  • Self-identified creatives or creative professionals.

  • Individuals struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, or people pleasing behaviors.

  • Individuals suffering from panic attacks.

  • Adults & young adults grieving the recent or historical death of a parent or sibling.

  • Individuals undergoing a non-death related loss or major life transition including ones related to aging, breakups, career, relocation, gender identity, sexual orientation.

 

Fees & Insurance

I am currently an in-network provider for the following insurance companies:

  • Aetna (including Aetna Student Health, PPO, HMO)

  • Consolidated Health Plan

I qualify as an out-of-network provider for most insurance plans that provide those benefits. It is important to contact your insurance company prior to beginning therapy to determine what behavioral health benefits you have through your plan.  

If you do not have Aetna or Consolidated Health Plans, the fee for therapy is established at the consultation.
